Emergency Care

The Emergency Department at Black River Memorial Hospital is always open to meet your family’s healthcare needs.

 

Call 911 or go to the emergency department for:

    • Heart attack symptoms including chest pain, shortness of breath, or pain in other areas (one or both arms, back, neck, jaw, or stomach)
    • Stroke symptoms including changes in vision, trouble speaking, facial droop, confusion, dizziness, severe headache (sudden onset), numbness or weakness on one side, or change in mental status
    • Severe abdominal pain
    • Loss of consciousness
    • Trauma injuries including severe cuts, broken bones, or head injuries
    • Suicide attempt or suicidal thoughts or threats
    • Pregnancy related problems including abdominal pain or bleeding
    • Alcohol or drug intoxication or overdose

Same-day Clinic Appointments
