The Emergency Department at Black River Memorial Hospital is always open to meet your family’s healthcare needs.
Call 911 or go to the Emergency Department for:

- Heart attack symptoms including chest pain, shortness of breath, or pain in other areas (one or both arms, back, neck, jaw, or stomach)
- Stroke symptoms including changes in vision, trouble speaking, facial droop, confusion, dizziness, sudden severe headache, numbness or weakness on one side, or change in mental status
- Severe abdominal pain
- Loss of consciousness
- Trauma injuries including severe cuts, broken bones, or head injuries
- Suicide attempt or suicidal thoughts or threats
- Pregnancy related problems including abdominal pain or bleeding
- Alcohol or drug overdose
Same-day Clinic Appointments
