Hospital Care
The physicians, nurses, and other medical staff at Black River Memorial Hospital will do their best to ensure you are comfortable and at ease during your hospital stay. Our goal is to help you manage your health once you leave our care.

Our highly skilled staff provide a full range of individualized patient care services for all ages following a medical or surgical health event. This includes 21 private patient rooms, including two negative pressure isolation rooms. We have registered nurses on staff 24 hours a day monitoring patient progress and providing necessary care. Our state-of-the-art lift system and specialty equipment available for continuous monitoring of your health needs is available in all patient rooms.
Transitional Care Program

Our Transitional Care Program, commonly referred to as “Swing Bed” by Medicare, is a stop between hospital and home, where patients get the continued skilled care they need to fully recover following a hospitalization. Our skilled staff provide around-the-clock, on-site care to help patients reach their end goal of returning home – independently and safely.

We partner with UW Health to provide a two-bed electronic intensive care unit (eICU) at Black River Memorial Hospital. Specialty care doctors from UW Health are able to monitor patients from afar, allowing the patient to remain close to family and friends.
Medication Management

Following a health event, your care team may recommend you change your medications. We work with you to determine what prescription changes you will have and how to make that change in your life.
Infusion Services

Nutrition Services

Our patients benefit from room service and 5-Star menus based on each patient’s needs developed by the Café on Adams. We have a dietitian on staff that helps with dietary concerns. Our healthier options follow the My Plate recommendations. My Plate is a program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that offers nutritional guidelines and recommendations.
