Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure used to see, diagnose and treat joint problems. Pencil-sized instruments are inserted into a small incision, allowing the surgeon to see the inside of a joint and determine the type of injury and treatment needed. Because of the less invasive nature of arthroscopy, it generally has a much easier recovery than traditional surgery.
