This experience includes an interview with a Black River Health employee, a tour of the specific department, and a tour of the hospital. The Emergency Department and Surgical Services are not included in the 8<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> grade job shadow\/interview experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of the 8th grade job shadow\/interview experience, the participant will:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Identify the types of services provided by the interviewee and\/or the specific department<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">List three (3) satisfying aspects of a healthcare career<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Understand the basic education preparation required for the careers discussed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All job shadow participants must have documentation that they received an influenza vaccination if participating in a student program at Black River Health from December 1 &#8211; March 31.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please fill out the form below so we can start setting up your job shadow\/interview experience. Make sure you put your top three choices of departments and dates\/times you are available. The Emergency Department and Surgical Services are not included in the Co-op experience. The Co-op experience is for a scholastic semester, with the students coming to the department approximately five hours a week. Organizational Development works closely with the Black River Falls High School to coordinate the program and determine if students meet the criteria.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All student participants must have documentation that they received an influenza vaccination if participating in a student program at Black River Health from December 1 &#8211; March 31.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students interested in this experience should talk with the Black River Falls High School Co-op coordinator to start this process. An application\/selection process is followed and students must be high school juniors or seniors to participate.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Job Shadow Experience<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This opportunity allows students who are considering majoring in a healthcare-related field to observe a department or individual for several hours to learn about the roles and responsibilities of the position\/department. Job shadow experiences are typically 8 hours or less, but not to exceed 40 hours. The Emergency Department and Surgical Services are not included in the job shadow experience.
