The month of November is observed at National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. Here at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice (SSRCH), we would like to take this time to recognize our tremendous team while also sharing a little bit more about our non-profit organization as a whole.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It is truly a team effort to be able to fulfill our promise of providing compassionate care and quality of life to all those in need. Our team consists of a physician, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, hospice aides, social workers, <\/span>volunteers<\/span><\/a>, educators, spiritual and bereavement coordinators and support roles.. While each individual plays a valuable but different role, all share a unique passion to provide love, care, empathy, and guidance to those in need.<\/span><\/p>\n Collectively, our team finds purpose in providing care for the whole person – mind, body and spiritual. We uphold our mission not just to our patients, but their families and our community as well. Our services encompass many different types of care. Some days, this means helping a patient fulfill their final wish (see <\/span>Yvonne\u2019s story<\/span><\/a>). At SSRCH, we also help patients\u2019 loved ones navigate their loss through <\/span>grief support services<\/span><\/a>. While we are well known for our hospice and palliative care, we also have active programs such as <\/span>No One Dies Alone<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>We Honor Veterans<\/span><\/a> to best serve the needs of our patients in a comforting and dignified manner.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Over time, many have expressed their sincere thanks with us about the level of care they have received from our team. We share a few below to express appreciation and gratitude for our team but also to share with others that we are always here to support our patients, their loved ones and our community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSharon S. Without them swooping in at the drop of a hat, my mom would have likely died alone in the hospital. My family and I are absolutely blown away by the outstanding quality of care and support that we received from them (not just for my mom, but for us as well). When you hear the expression: there are Angels among us, that is exactly right. All the staff there were Angel’s of God. The compassion and care for her was outstanding. I could never thank each one of them enough for the comfort and support they gave…24-7. Thank you to each of you and God Bless each one. Also: there is a program called “No one should die alone”….these people too are Angel’s of God. My heart is so touched by what these ladies did for my sister-in-law. They came throughout the night to stay with her and give her comfort.
