Hospice

Dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care to all who are in need.

Guidance, Comfort, and Care for Families

Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice is here to help you live fully in the last phases of an incurable disease. We utilize a team approach that includes a medical director, registered nurse case managers, hospice aides and social workers, and bereavement and spiritual coordinators. They will work with you and your family to create a plan of care tailored to your needs and wishes.

Hospice isn’t a place; it’s an experience. And hospice care isn’t just for the patient – family and loved ones come along on the journey, and all of you need emotional support and compassionate care.

Support for Every Step of the Journey

Routine Care

Provided wherever the patient calls home: a private residence, apartment, assisted living, or nursing facility. Our team makes regularly scheduled visits to provide care based on each patient’s needs and desires. Our staff is also available on a 24/7 on-call basis.

Inpaitent Care

This level of care is utilized either in our Inpatient Center or a contracted facility when our patient’s need for pain or symptom management cannot be managed in the home. The patient returns home when symptoms are controlled.

Continuous Care

Provided during a period of crisis to achieve palliation or management of acute medical symptoms in order to maintain the patient at home. Provided on a short-term basis when the patient needs more intensive care that is predominantly nursing care, for at least eight hours within a 24-hour period.

Respite Care

Provided during a period of crisis to achieve palliation or management of acute medical symptoms in order to maintain the patient at home. Provided on a short-term basis when the patient needs more intensive care that is predominantly nursing care, for at least eight hours within a 24-hour period.
